What is Offmodel?

AI project continuity for macOS.

Offmodel is a local-first macOS app that keeps reviewed project state in the local project folder, so work can continue across AI sessions without reconstructing the project from chat history.

The project carries the continuity.

Important work should not depend on one conversation remaining open. Offmodel keeps the reviewed project identity, current objective, decisions and exact next action with the project itself.

A new AI session can begin from a reviewable handoff instead of relying on a retelling from memory or a long chat transcript.

  1. Prepare the handoffReview the current project state and what should move forward before anything is given to another AI session.
  2. Paste it into the new sessionOpen the same local project folder and manually give the new AI the reviewed handoff.
  3. Allow work after verificationThe receiving session verifies the project, revision, checkpoint, objective and next action. Human confirmation is still required before project state changes.

Local-first does not mean automatic upload.

Offmodel does not automatically upload a project folder to an AI. If you manually paste text into an external AI service, that text leaves your computer and is governed by that service.

Offmodel does not make an AI provider remember or obey a project. It gives you a controlled, reviewable way to carry the project state forward while keeping approval with the person.

The product is deliberately narrow: keep the current project state clear, make the handoff reviewable and leave continuation under human control.
